Bullfinch - Tutorial

Melt 100g marshmallows with 20g Crisco. Add approx. 80g Rice Krispies to this melted mixture and mix. With well-greased hands, the mass can be shaped.

Form the body of the birds roughly from Rice Krispie Treats, heat thicker wire for the legs with a flame and insert them into the body.

Cover everything with fondant and model the details. Incorporate caves for the eyes.

Form the feet with five pieces of thinner wire by taping them together with brown florist tape.

Cut out individual tail feathers from flower paste with the cutting wheel, emboss them with the Veining tool and cut small indents with the scissors. Stick them together on a strong wire with food glue and let it dry. Insert the tail into the body.

Paint the tail black. Then cut out the wings of flower paste and also impress the lines of the feathers with the veining tool, stick them on the body and hide the transitions with fondant.

Then make small balls of flower paste and glue them into the eye sockets. Paint everything with food colors. The paint can be applied on larger parts as powder paint and can be liquefied with alcohol to paint details, such as the eyes.

At the end, attach the feet with florist tape to the leg wires of the body.

Glaze the eyes and beak with glaze.
